Renewal Armed Guard
For Security Personnel
This renewal course ensures currently licensed armed guards meet ongoing state training and certification requirements. It reinforces firearm safety, use-of-force standards, and legal responsibilities for continued licensure.
About This Training
Tennessee's licensed armed security guards must renew their certification periodically to remain in compliance with state requirements set by the Tennessee Department of Commerce & Insurance. This Armed Guard Renewal course reinforces firearm safety, use-of-force standards, legal updates, and the practical shooting skills required to maintain an active armed guard license in Tennessee.
The course reviews changes to relevant state law since initial licensure, refreshes core firearm handling and safety skills, and includes a live-fire qualification to confirm continued proficiency. This renewal process ensures armed guards remain sharp on both the legal and practical sides of the job, reducing liability for both the guard and their employer.
Staying current on your armed guard license keeps you working legally and confidently in Tennessee's growing security industry, avoiding lapses that could result in the denial or suspension of your registration.
